Margarito vs. Cotto News
Antonio Margarito and Miguel Cotto will meet at Madison Square Garden in New York for the Super Welterweight WBA World Championship on the 3rd of December 2011. This match has been full of controversy, mainly surrounding whether or not the match would even take place. Now that it has been confirmed, it is said to be the fight of the year.
The main doubt surrounding whether the fight would go ahead or not was due to Margarito seemingly struggling to receive his license. He met Manny Pacquiao in the ring last year and sustained horrific injuries to his eye. As always with boxers, the eye is very sensitive and there was serious concern as to whether he would be able to fight ever again. After numerous medical examinations, however, he has been given the all clear to go ahead. However, even though the fight has been officially confirmed, Margarito has still been called in for numerous medical examinations, fuelling speculation that all is actually not well. Camp Margarito, however, have stated that these are routine examinations and are no indication of Antonio Margarito’s general health.
Most people expect an absolutely spectacular ending to this fight. There is no love lost between the two fighters. Cotto claims that Margarito cheated in their previous encounter by having plaster of Paris on his hand wraps, just as he did against Shane Mosley, and is set on revenge, feeling his previous loss was unjustified. Margarito, on his side, is trying desperately to prove that he won against Cotto fair and square, as well as wanting to prove that he is fit and healthy, so he is also set to fight harder than he ever has.
Some query whether one of the two will have to throw in the towel, as the anger between the two is completely real.

WBO Welterweight Championship Pacquiao vs Marquez
It has finally been made official: the long awaited WBO Welterweight World Championship between Pacquiao and Marquez will be taking place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. This fight is the much awaited third fight between the two boxers, who have met previously on two occasions, one resulting in a draw and the second resulting in a questionable victory on points for Pacquiao.
Just looking at the poster announcing the fight will demonstrate the importance of this match in the boxing world. It has a post apocalyptic feel to it, making you believe that this fight truly is of world changing proportions. Marquez seems to represent the aliens that have taken over the world and Pacquiao is the loveable rogue that is due to save what is left of the human race.
The general consensus seems to be that Pacquiao, endearingly referred to as Pac-Man, will be the winner in this match, but he will have to work at it. Pac-Man has a tendency to make mistakes and Marquez can take full advantage of this. The basis of the prediction that Pac-Man is finally going to win – and this time unquestionably – is that he is younger, quicker and bigger. But this is quite a boring prediction and many people do like the underdog, thinking that Marquez stands a fair chance of coming out victorious. Odds are 8-1 at the minute, which does demonstrate that even the bookies think there is at least a chance that this match may have an unexpected outcome.
Reliable sources predict that the match will end in the sixth round by decision rather than knockout. Some of the statistics disagree, stating that Pac-Man will win by knockout either in the first six rounds or in the next six rounds. Some feel that there is a chance Marquez will win by knock out, or that there will be a draw by decision.

Haye is not Klitschko’s strongest foe
Many in the boxing world are looking forward to the Klitschko/Haye fight on July 2. A fight over two years in the making. Boxing pundits have said that only the Lennox Lewis-Mike Tyson fight in 2002 is bigger. Klitschko is the long-reigning champion within boxing’s glamor (though fading) division facing a moment of truth against a younger opponent in his prime. But the latter is to be taken with a grain of salt.
Klitschko’s career has seen this before and he has overcome. Klitschko has been criticized for being a boring fighter facing less than stellar opponents. It was in 2005 in Atlantic City, N.J. When the then 29-year-old Wladimir faced an undefeated power puncher named Samuel Peter. Peter punished Klitschko throughout the fight sending him to the canvas three times. But Klitschko was not to be broken. It wasn’t a pretty fight but somehow Klitschko reached down deep inside and pulled out a unanimous decision. He later had a rematch with Peter and won by a 10th round KO. Since then Klitschko has squashed the negative talk by turning in a 13 fight winning streak including nine title defenses. He has remained rock solid and unflinching. It was that fight where he overcame the two greatest adversaries of his life: fear and doubt.
Klitschko’s style changed as well. After that fight his trainer, Manny Steward, began working to turn him into a mighty defensive machine. He focused on developing Klitschko’s jab and thus not get hit as much as he did in his earlier career. Unfortunately Klitschko’s rise within the heavyweight division has coincided with its demise within the sport. Regardless one has to acknowledge that Klitschko’s becoming a self-made success falls squarely in line with the American Dream. The “bully” Haye is nothing compared to the bully we have within us; the one who cries out for us to quit. Klitschko beat that bully and Haye will have his hands full on July 2. first direct Head of Marketing, Paul Say, said: “The research shows Brits are proud of their nation, with traditional customs and festivals such as cheese rolling, bog snorkelling and toe wrestling cited by 57 per cent as the main reason Britain is so eccentric. One in every 100 people in the UK is officially registered as a Jedi Knight – a statistic which proves Brits aren’t afraid to be irreverent even about such routine things as the Census.
“It’s because our customers are so colourful that first direct does banking in black and white. We wanted to get under the skin of these interesting characters to find out just what makes them tick.”
The next biggest driver of our intrinsic eccentricity is the class system (35 per cent) while a third (32 per cent) say it’s because Britain is not truly European. UK Cold Snap
The weather all over the world is not like it used to be and when the weather turns sour, the airports are usually effected. The airports in Derry and Edinburgh have been closed due to heavy snow. Forecasters are reporting a week of severe conditions as those driving across the UK are forewarned to drive carefully when heading to work.
Record low temperatures have gripped Britain with Saturday night going amazingly low to minus 17C in Wales. Minus 2.5C was recorded in Shawbury in Shropshire as a blanket of snow covered much of the country. These conditions are said to be caused by a mixture of clear skies, light winds and snow cover and later this week, Scotland might experience temperatures down to minus 20C.
Michael Dukes of MeteoGroup commented that these ridiculously low temperatures have been compared to the middle of Scandinavia. According to weather history, it was on November 14, 1919 when the UK recorded the lowest temperature in Braemer at 23.3C. Forecasters today warn people that these severe conditions might last into next week. With motoring rescue dealing with about 15,000 breakdowns on Saturday, this puts the normal November Saturday up by eighty percent.
